A new season is a perfect time to revamp your wardrobe and experiment with new styles. So many trends and styles appear before and during a new season that we know you’re dying to try. This summer is right around the corner, so you might be wondering what type of designs to look for, what clothes to preorder before anyone else does, and what colors to add to your wardrobe. While trends seem to appear and disappear out of nowhere, we have found a couple of garments and styles that don’t seem to be leaving anytime soon. From gingham prints to sheer fabrics, here are summer fashion must-haves to add to your wardrobe for men and women!

1. Brighter and bolder colors

Make your summer even better by embracing brighter and bolder colors in your wardrobe! With the bright sun and clear blue sky, let your clothes reflect the nice weather and natural optimism summer brings each year. However, for those who are not used to vibrant hues, this can seem a little daunting. Of course, nobody wants to walk out looking like a highlighter. Having said that, if you style your vibrant pieces correctly, you will not have to worry about that.

For instance, start by picking one bright piece to wear. It can be something as simple as a bold purple coat or bright green button-up top. Then, build the outfit around your bold piece with somewhat simplistic items; such as basic jeans, a white dress, or minimalistic jewelry. You will want to make sure that your vibrant piece is the main focal point of your outfit. Once you do this, your outfit will look more cohesive instead of chaotic.

2. An endless amount of gingham

3. Some classic floral prints

While some may consider floral prints more of a spring trend, we think this timeless design works just as well during the summer. The beauty behind a floral print is that the print itself can be incredibly versatile. You can wear daisies, roses, or even an azalea. But do not worry about looking like a botanical garden.

Similar to bright colors, if you balance your colors out well, you will look chic instead of flashy. You also do not have to stick to the same floral dress. This pattern gives you plenty of room for experimentation. So, take a risk this summer and try wearing a floral suit, scarf, shoes, earrings, or top. It’ll be one trend you’ll be glad you took part in!

4. Eye-catching flared pants

If you casually scroll on social media, you will notice that 1970s fashion trends have been making a huge comeback. From an excessive amount of fringe to captivating patchwork, everyone’s wardrobe has been influenced by the 70s. More recently, flared pants, also referred to as bell bottoms, are very likely to make a comeback this summer for everyone.

These pants have a loose fit around your calf and can usually be found in a versatile denim color. So, you can wear it with your favorite graphic tee! With their comfortable and loose fit, they are the perfect pants to wear during a sunny afternoon. You can find these pants in almost any size, color, and design imaginable; so you can effortlessly integrate them into your wardrobe!

5.  Captivating sheer fabrics

During the summer, you probably end up wanting to wear light fabrics. Nobody likes to feel sweaty and hot under a blistering sun. Luckily for you, it is predicted like sheer fabrics are going to make a huge comeback during the summer. Sheer fabrics are perfect for making a statement or experimentation. So, when creating your summer wardrobe, keep an eye out for sheer tops and sheer dresses.

6. The shorter the skirt, the better

This year and last year, you may have noticed midi skirts becoming trendy. For instance, almost everyone seemed to own a midi leopard skirt. There was even an Instagram account dedicated to taking pictures of people wearing the infamous skirt. However, now it seems mini skirts are having their moment.

On the runways and even on apps like TikTok, you can see users wearing short mini skirts in fashion-related videos. These skirts are very similar to the ones you can find 90s supermodels like Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell wearing, except a bit more modern.

To make the ultimate statement, consider wearing a bold print or vibrant color on your skirt. You can accessorize by throwing on some adorable 60s go-go boots, or keep it simple with sweet flats.

7. A comfy cardigan

Summer might be too warm to throw on your favorite jacket or hoodie, but you can still grab a comfy cardigan. For men and women, cardigans are a fun and trendy garment to wear during summer. It’s light, so you don’t have to worry about feeling hot. Plus, cardigans are very easy to wear. If you feel underwhelmed by your outfit, sometimes throwing on a cardigan can do the trick and revitalize your clothes. You can play around with color by wearing a lilac or yellow cardigan, or keep it minimalistic with a beige cardigan. If you are in the mood for experimentation, you can also try wearing a cardigan with a bold print and pattern.
